Asturias is a small provinve comparying to the rest of Spain but even that there is a lot of places that we can visit, the cities, small but cousy, the pintoresque villages at the see and at the mountain, etc.

We will start with Oviedo, capital of the province. In the eighth century Fromentano decided to built his monastry in the hill of Ovetao without knowing that years later will become the capital of the province of Asturias.

Here we can visit the Cathedral of San Salvador. It was built over the ruins of an earlier church built by the kings father Fruela I in 765 AD but has different styles like romanic and gothic and it is the only one in Europe of the gothic period with one tower.

Inside the Cathedral we can visit The Holy Chamber where we will see some treasures like the Victory Cross, the Angels Cross and the Agatas Box. All of then have a legend. In the first one it suppose to be made by the wood sword that Pelayo the King used to fight the muslims in Covadonga. The Angel Sword story says that three unknown men came one day to the city asking to offer a present to the King. The leyend says that for one day they were locked in one room and the next day they came in but nobody was there and the cross was completly done. So here the story began to believe they were some kind of angels. We can also visit the arqueological museum and more cultural places.
And when we want to have a relax moment or just a nice walk or meal we have a lot of typical restaurats to go,"sidrerias" where we can enjoy a delicious tapas and cider, the asturian typical drink.
